Mute audio on TX

Post by PD5JOS »

Great application, and am now testing it with great pleasure.

I am missing 1 option that could be very useful. Here I am suffering from RF from the speaker at the moment I am transmitting. An option with: Mute audio on TX, this can then be turned on/off e.g. with a checkbox would be handy.

As a comparison, there is a similar option in a programme I use called Catsync for syncing my Radio to WebSDR..

Would be nice if something like this could be implemented in the next release of RM Noise.

Hello Jos,

nice idea. I am just asking myself how would RM Noise sense the TX state without CAT control?

Maybe by driving it through the Omnirig setup, and not directly on the audio driver. That's how "Catsync" does it too.

That's CAT I was referring to. Omnirig = CAT control of the TRX. Currently, there is no CAT support in RM Noise

I took a closer look at Omnirig to see if we can capture the RX/TX state somewhere from a log file but could not find anything.

Hamlib looks promising because it has an API https://github.com/Hamlib/Hamlib/wiki/Documentation
